I would like to start off by saying that I am honored to be the editor of the Artisphere Online magazine this year. For the last couple of years the economy has taken a hit which then of course trickles down into all avenues of life including decorative painting. This downturn effects many areas within our industry from a great organization like IDAL to our manufacturers and distributors where we buy our products and ultimately our own unique businesses. It is a hard road traveled indeed but at the same token I feel from these situations we are forced to be creative in how we move forward and that is not bad at all. It is from this creativity that you see new paths of marketing popping up and new ways of doing business. Within the IDAL organization it is not any different. Creativity is the basis for this online magazine and with it we are going to see a whole new way for IDAL to get information out to you the reader. It has also broadened the capabilities and allowed this information to be provided not only in written form but video as well. We can also comment on our articles and tweet them, link them to facebook and be provided with additional direction after an article is read. I think that with these changes we can now gain knowledge in a quicker and more efficient way allowing us more time to focus on our talents and business. It is our intention for this magazine to become a hub within the industry not only to pass this information around but to also show you our members some of the other amazing things we have in store for you including this year’s annual convention. So stay tuned as we provide you with all we can utilizing our connections within the industry. In addition I would like to thank Linda Banning for her constant efforts with IDAL and Anthony Pinkston who planted the seed for this magazine to be created.
Sincerely,
Patrick Ganino

Hi Pat,
First off congratulations, I look forward to it,
This is fantastic and I have to agree 110% with your article. It has been rough for many, but where one door closes another opens and being able to see the creative opportunities that arise out of times like these is very important. Things change and as business owners you must not be afraid to change with the times. Learning as artists has always been a life long journey and passion that never ends. As in the arts, marketing is an art form in itself. It’s a brand new world with even more ways to reach new opportunities and I for one have changed with it and am busier than ever
