This year at IDAL, 36 workshops, many of which were hands-on, offered both basic and specialized training for all skill levels. Over the next couple of weeks I will showcase different classes I was able to photograph at this years convention. Although I was unable to photograph all of them I did get more photos that I can speak of. Being that we are a visual group I felt that pictures from the classes would do so much more than words. This week I will showcase Mats Carlsson’s class which I also had the honor of monitoring for him as well. I hope you enjoy these pictures and look forward to more over the next few weeks!
IDAL member benefits enables one access to an informative resource guide such as it’s on-line magazine ‘Artisphere’ filled with new trends, techniques, products and so much more! It also provides opportunities to attend classes taught by world-renowned instructors, volunteer opportunities to assist these world class instructors as ‘Class Monitor’, assist IDAL’s Board of Director’s with monitoring the exposition door, collect EVALs (class evaluations) and opportunities to take photographs. Of course all of the above enables great networking opportunities, friendships, up close instructor guidance, class observation, and my favorite … fabulous chances to capture all the convention excitement with photography!
To begin our journey by way of photographs we will start with Mats Blue Ribbon Beer class.

‘It is our dream that students will …experience their classrooms as invigorating, even inspiring environments – places they look forward to going to and places they hate to leave. It is our dream that they will come to know themselves as masters of various crafts…It is our dreams that …they will come to love the process of learning itself… by making it their own.’ – Paideia Schools
