We all have different ways of running our business. Some are hands on, some allow a lot of freedom to their vendors and some micro manage. I pride myself on being one who delegates. I try and i repeat try to only do the tasks that have to be done by me. If I can delegate something to free up my time for painting, selling or marketing then I do. So when I had an opportunity to bid on an exterior mural for a building learning only that I had 2 weeks to get my proposal in with a detail sketch of what it was going to look like I found my self with some great ideas but very little time to implement them. I immediately thought of Linda Topel and the unique and professional service that she offers to artists like myself. Linda was able to take my concept and make it a reality with very little effort from my end. I provided her with some images (she provided what I did not) and a concept over the phone and with a very shot turn around I had something I could use as part of my presentation. (see below)
At this years International Decorative Artisan League convention in Reno, Nevada I bumped into past board member Leslie Nesbett. I have not seen Leslie for a year since last years convention. Leslie and I started to chat about our business and how it was going. She started telling me how professional her business was becoming and how efficient as well. She proceeded to pull out her Samsung Tablet and show me some of her presentations. She pulled up on the screen some slick before and after shots of a room. The before shot was the original photo and the after shot was the same room but the work that had been done on it was done with Photoshop. Using this method she was able to show the client what the room would look like thus helping her close the deal and gain a deposit. I was thrilled to see this. I love seeing any artist use the creative side of their brain for the business end of their…well uh business. She continued by telling me she was using Linda Topel for this service. Small world!
No furniture was harmed in the process…lol….the stencil is Victorian Damask by Stencil Planet
Linda Topel: “My first memory of the Arts is when I was about 4 years old. I was painting with wet concrete all over my Dad’s car…it seemed like a proper support to me . He wasn’t too happy since he had to stop pouring the new patio and wash the car. Needless to say, I’ve tended to avoid concrete since then! Every other medium has been fair game. I found my way to online art forums after years of practicing alone and I discovered Faux. What a world of beauty it is, too!”
“While doing that, I found and fell in love with Photo-Shop. After a few years of experience, I look forward to doing what I love for more people: Helping your client see what you see for their home by Photoshopping a picture of your sample board into a picture of their room.”
Pictures are e-mailed to me — photoshopbylinda@gmail.com — with your instructions. Hi-res images work best and they can also be sent to me via cellphone e-mail (not as a text). The better the picture, the better the end result. I then provide a quote, time frame and payment instructions. Soon, the artist and/or designer will have images to show their clients!
I can change the color! For more accuracy, a swatch or another picture of the color to be used should be sent. I do advise that lighting and different monitors can affect the outcome.
A mural could be applied by sending a sketch, better yet in full color. I can also work on different surfaces, including cabinetry.
Prices start at $20 00 per finished image depending on complexity . I have a Facebook page, Photoshop by Linda, where I post information and photos.
Making Payments is easy and safe….through PayPal …. You just set up your account and send the money to my email address…. photoshopbylinda@gmail.com

Right on Linda and Pat!
$20 !!!!! WHAT A DEAL! I have been doing this in my business for years and I know how much work it is. And you know what, my renderings are not nearly as good as Linda’s.
Why would I ever do it myself again????
